the white water of the Nantahala
River, slower swirling rapids of the Tuckaseegee,
Deep Creek's great scenery and the awesome views on Fontana Lake,
the area surrounding Good Life Cabins has something for every
water buff. Plenty of outfitters are ready to rent you a boat
and give you lessons, or bring your own vessel and use their transportation
or marina. The trout are great in the area as well.
NANTAHALA RIVER
The
Nantahala River boasts mostly Class 2 & Class 3 Rapids,
with a challenging Class 4 near the Nantahala Outdoor
Center. The river runs through the Nantahala Gorge along
side the Great Smoky Mountain Railway.

DEEP CREEK (Tubing)
For
generations, families have been coming back to Deep Creek
to enjoy tubing in its swift, cool mountain waters. From
the parking lot at the Deep Creek trailhead, two miles
north of Bryson City, you carry your inner tube upstream
about a mile into the Great Smoky Mountains National Park.

.The Tuckaseegee River offers
quiet leisurely floating mixed with Class 1 & Class
2 Rapids. This is a great river for beginner and intermediate
kyackers and rafters, as well as tubing enthusiasts. This
slower river offers a wide array of wildlife views. Floaters
have sighted kingfishers, blue herons, ducks, bald eagles
and more.

29-mile long, 11,700-acre Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA)
lake has more than 240 miles of shoreline. And its deep,
cold waters provide the ideal habitat for a variety of fish.
